A Personal Trainer's 6-Pack Beef Stew in 20 Min Recipe

If you want something to fill you up and keep you going throughout the day, a personal trainer can offer a wonderful tasting stew. It allows you to burn fat while this low carb meal helps you burn calories throughout the day. We're not bragging here, but it's a mouth watering feast that a gentleman we know came up with to even rival your grandmother's recipe.

It's been said that the only good beef today is the grass fed kind, which of course makes complete sense. After all, it's easy to understand when you consider the weight that revolves around corn and soy. When cattle is fed a corn based diet, there will be extra fat on your meal, and even times when they are sick. The healthiest way to take care of the cattle is being grass fed.

There are occasions when grass fed beef is extremely difficult to come by. However, a fitness expert tells us that we should look at Whole Foods or even places like Trader Joe's. You can also go to the farmer's market as well in order to get your grass fed beef. If you head to the internet you should check out Eat Wild or the USDA's Farmers Market Search.

It's important to understand that quality must go into this recipe if you want to get the results you're after. It's the focal point to getting a great tasting beef stew. It's possible that once you try it you will consider it to be the best beef stew you tasted. So today we want to give you the recipe and a little commentary from the personal trainer.

6-pack Beef Stew Recipe

Many stew recipes will have you coat the meat in flour and then fry it in fat. This just sucked all the nutritional benefits of the meat and vegetables right out of them. The personal trainer makes the observation that by frying white flour, a carcinogenic called acrylamide is created.

The main bodies of many stews are potatoes. Potatoes are not a good food to eat if you are trying to lose body fat. Stew just isn't stew without potatoes. A great substitute is turnips as they are also white and will taste quite like potatoes. The carbs in turnips are from fiber and will burn more efficiently."

Ingredients:

* 2lbs. Boneless Beef (grass-fed)- Be sure to trim off the visible fat, and then cut the meat into 1" cubes 1927 kcal
* 4 Tablespoons of tomato paste- Make sure there is NO high-fructose corn syrup!
* 2 Tablespoons of balsamic vinegar 20 kcal
* 1 yellow or white onion- Be sure to chop them up 69kcal
* 3 medium turnips- These should be cubed 102 kcal
* 5 large carrots- cubed 148 kcal
* 4 cloves garlic chopped, 1 bay leaf, 1 teaspoon dry thyme (or fresh)
* 1 cup of water
* 1 cup of red wine 198 kcal
* 2 tablespoon olive oil
* A generous amount of salt and pepper for tasteful purposes

Directions:

Preheat oven to 300F. Be sure to chop the veggies and meat.2. Start out browning the meat cubes in olive oil. You can do this in a large oven-safe pot or just a large Dutch oven.3. Add all the additional ingredients above and simmer them.4. Place these in the oven and cook for around 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Make sure the meat is fork tender.

When it's ready to serve you can take it to the gym, work, a tailgate party, or anywhere else you see fit. In the end it's a meal fit for the healthy individual and be passed on to those looking to burn fat and create a healthier lifestyle.
