- 1 can beer 12 ounce
- 1 medium diced onion
- 2 teaspoons instant beef bouillon
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- ½ teaspoon thyme
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon paprika
- 3 medium diced carrots
- 2 small diced turnips
- 1 diced celery stalk
- 1 diced green bell pepper
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 3 medium diced potatoes
- 1 cup frozen green peas

How to Make It
Cook the 4 slices of bacon in a large heavy saucepan or skillet until it is crisp and crunchy. Reserve the bacon drippings and drain the oil from the bacon. Crumble the bacon up into small pieces and then set aside until needed.
Dust the cubed boneless venison or deer meat with the flour and then add the meat to the hot bacon drippings in the skillet or saucepan. You may need to brown the venison in two or three separate batches. Drain the fat off the meat and then return the meat to the skillet or saucepan.
Add the tomatoes and juice, the can of beer, the medium diced onion, instant beef bouillon, sugar, thyme, pepper, and paprika. Stir to blend and then bring to a boil. Cook for about 2 minutes and then reduce the heat to low. Cover with a lid and allow the stew to simmer for about 1 hour.
Increase heat to high and then add the diced carrots, diced turnips, diced celery stalk, diced green bell pepper, sliced mushrooms and diced potatoes. Stir and bring to a boil. Cook for about 2 minutes and then reduce the heat to low. Cover with lid and simmer for about 1 hour. Stir in the frozen green peas. Cover and cook for about 5 minutes and then stir in the cooked bacon pieces. Season the stew with salt to taste before serving to family and friends.
