How To Make A Delicious Scented Stew With Your Pressure Cooker

The scented stew is prepared without grease and is highly tasteful. The different kinds of herbs provide a wide array of flavours to it and when cooked, the juices that come out of the beef make it all the more tender and add to the taste.

The ingredients used in a scented stew are not hard to get either and can be obtained easily from stores near your home. The ingredients required are,

Beef Stew

  • Chopped veal, just shy of one kilogram. About 700 grams should be good enough.
  • Same amount of potatoes as the veal.
  • Onions go in the same amount as the potatoes and the veal hence making it 700 grams of onions as well.
  • You need red wine and about 50ml of it should be enough.
  • You can use 100ml either of vegetable broth or beef broth.
  • A bay leaf.
  • A bunch of parsley.
  • A stick of Rosemary.
  • Three leaves of sage and
  • Two thyme sticks to end it.

The procedure is simple enough and you can make this at your home in a short time. Add this to one of your meals to give it a burst of flavours and make the meal much more sumptuous.

Firstly, you need to wash the herbs involved and tie them all up in a posy. This will make it easier to remove them when you are done cooking.

Wash, peel and slice the onions and potatoes for the preparation.

Take a layer of sliced onions and cover it with a layer of beef followed immediately by a layer of sliced potatoes. You need to season each of these layers with salt and pepper and then add the posy you prepared. Then you need to soak this mixture using the beef or vegetable broth and the red wine.

Start cooking by covering the pot with the lid and then pressurizing the mixture. Once you hear the ringing of the valve, you need to immediately bring the heat down and then let it cook at that state for another twenty five minutes. Remove the lid after you have let the steam escape and take the posy out. Stir the mixture after this and verify if the cooking is correct. You can allow it to cook for some more time if required but don't cover the lid.

Add some more of the broth if required or if you are done then put up the stew on a dish and serve it hot.
